This rustic campground is shaded by large hardwoods and conifers along the tranquil waters of Mino-kwezenhs zaagigan (lake). It's located in Marquette County, 15 miles southwest of Republic.

This campground is managed by Bewabic State Park.

Please note that the name of the campground and lake were renamed in 2023.

This beautiful, rustic campground is on the shore of Mino-kwezenhs zaagigan (lake) and is known for great year-round fishing. There are 15 sites for tent and small trailer use.

Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is a "carry-in, carry-out," which means there are no trash barrels provided, so please plan trash removal accordingly.

The campground is located 15 miles southwest of Republic via M-95 South. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay.

Fishing

Fishing: Rainbow trout, splake, bluegill, perch and bass are caught in Mino-kwezenhs zaagigan (lake). Other nearby fishing opportunities include Horseshoe Lake (east) and Twin Lakes (3 miles south).

Hunting

Hunting: This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. Learn more about hunting.

Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes

Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes: ORVs are allowed to be ridden in and out of the campground. All county and state forest roads in the area are open to ORVs. The Porterfield Lake Motorcycle Trail (9 miles east) has 22 miles of trails.
