for State Wildlife and Game Areas (SWGAs):

Rules and regulations for wildlife /game areas:
Public land users and hunters/trappers are required to be aware of all rules and regulations relevant to their specific activities and locations. Applicable land rules and regulation details can vary by type and landowner:
•   On State Wildlife Areas (SWA), State Game Areas (SGA), and State Wildlife Research Areas (SWRA) types - see SWGAs rules/regulations reminders 1-page [pdf] or the SWGAs multipage reminders [pdf] with links to exact legal-language from complete rules/regulations for all DNR lands.
•   On wildlife management areas or co-management areas on State Forest cooperative lands, the DNR State Forest rules and regulations apply.
•   On wildlife management areas or co-management areas on State Parks & Recreation lands, the DNR State Parks & Recreation Area rules and regulations apply plus parking requires the MI Recreation Passport.
•   On Federal, County or private-ownership cooperating lands - the DNR State Game Area rules and regulations do not apply on these areas; The appropriate land rules and regulations apply based on the specific landowner and administrator of the specific cooperative area.
•   Several SWGA maps like for managed waterfowl areas, have special area-specific information or directions on the back, such as managed unit information, date limits, or hunt drawing directions.
