Alan D. Sutton

While I went to college in the late 60s and early 70s I worked at Algonac State Park as a Park Ranger. I went to Port Huron Junior College and then to Grand Valley State College. After college I started my career with Fisheries Division at the Institute for Fisheries Research in Ann Arbor in 1971 as a Fisheries Technician. During 1981-84 I worked at the Lake St. Clair Fisheries Research Station and helped on a winter navigation study funded by the Corp of Engineers. Shortly after transferring back to the Institute I accepted the position of Manager at the Saline Fisheries Research Station. After a couple of years as Manager of the Saline station I accepted a promotion to Technician Supervisor.

Throughout all of my time at the IFR I have and still create figures for reports. I have been technical support for the computers and network at the IFR. I developed the original IFR web site and now maintain our current web site.

I am currently part of the Statewide Angler Survey Program (SASP). I am the clearing house for all the creel data collected by our 30 plus creel clerks all over the state. The data are entered into PDAs via electronic survey forms and sent to me where I quality control and enter it into a database.
